The official sView repository for Ubuntu is now placed on Launchpad. Notice that old repository will not receive any updates anymore! After adding PPA into your system you can install sView using this command from console:
sudo apt-get install sview
To launch sView from command line you should type one of the options:
sView --in=image
sView --in=video
sView media_file_name

Extra info for Mac OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) users sView binaries has no digital signature. This slightly complicates installation on Mountain Lion due to high security settings turned on by default (blocking unsigned application) and counter-intuitive procedure for ignoring this rule. Please notice that you shouldn't switch security to the lowest level system-wide to launch sView! instead you may add exception to concrete application:
You need to perform this operation just once after installation. After this you may use sView without any restrictions! Sorry for inconvenience but sView is a FREE software and as developer I don't want to pay any additional fees for every platform holders (Microsoft, Apple) just to sign compiled binaries, hide extra warnings and propagate erroneous assumption to users that using only signed applications significantly increases security of theirs systems. |
